With the increase in skin cancer amongst the UK population, many people are concerned enough to have small blemishes examined or removed on various parts of their body.
• Mole Removal
• Excision of Cysts
• Excision of Lipomas
• Excision of Basal Cell Carcinomas
• Excision of Squamous Cell Carcinomas
• Excision of Malignant Melanomas
Some of these are entirely innocent and can simply be treated with reassurance whilst others require a biopsy or formal removal and reconstruction.
Mr Birch is fully trained to treat all forms of skin tumours whether they are benign or malignant and sees many of these patients in his NHS practice. He is fully committed to undertaking the highest quality surgery and reconstruction. He is a member of the local and specialist skin multidisciplinary teams in Swindon and Oxford and has access to many resources for patients with skin malignancies.
Breast cancer can be a devastating disease and while surgery is often necessary, it can leave you feeling incomplete and with a loss of femininity.
Breast reconstruction involves either:
• Inflatable saline implants (Tissue Expansion)
• Skin and muscle from your back with or without implants (Latissimus Dorsi muscle flap-LDF)
• Skin and fat from your tummy detached and re-implanted into blood vessels in the chest or armpit (TRAM/DIEP)
All of these methods can be use to reconstruct your breast, restoring you to your previous body shape.
Mr Birch is a fully trained specialist in all forms of breast reconstruction and regularly undertakes some of the most complex reconstructions in his NHS practice. He will be happy to discuss all forms of reconstruction to meet your individual requirements.
